Play of the Day: Snowden’s New Job at Terminal C
The NSA leaker is still stuck at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport.
The Daily Show and Colbert Report both came back from two-week hiatus Monday night to comment on the news. Stephen Colbert looked at the controversy surrounding the Asiana Air crash last week, focusing on the NTSB “official” that confirmed the racist names a San Francisco TV station showed . The Daily Show spent some time on immigration reform , looking at the House of Representatives’ failure at action on the issue and the Republican Party’s similar failures with Hispanic voters.
National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden still remains popular on late-night TV. Snowden remains stranded at Sheremetyevo International Airport , having not secured asylum since arriving there and is weighing the possibility of seeking asylum in Russia. The Tonight Show ’s Jay Leno highlighted the differences in freedom between Russia and the United States, while Late Night ’s Jimmy Fallon commented on a possible conversation between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama. On CBS, The Late Show ’s David Letterman thinks Snowden’s biding his time driving the little cart to shuttle elderly people between terminals.
Fast forward to 3:00 to see Letterman show one of resigning Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano’s greatest moments.
