Play of the Day: The Clinton/Trump Debate Fallout
Trump gained power from his vanquished foes and is now leading in some imaginary polling.
Donald Trump interrupted Hillary Clinton over 50 times during the debate on Monday, reinforcing the conventional wisdom about the way Trump treats women. Conan O'Brien joked about the debate Tuesday night, saying 51 interruptions is a "quiet night" for Melania Trump.
Tuesday morning, Trump touted his wins in post-debate flash polls including a CBS poll. Unfortunately, as CBS News' Major Garrett pointed out on Twitter, CBS did not put together a post-debate poll. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that Trump is leading in other fake polls, including the Naria poll and a poll of the Lollipop Guild. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah noted Trump's water intake during the debate, noting Trump's comments about Marco Rubio during the primaries. Noah said Trump is like the Highlander: He takes the skills of his vanquished foes, including Rubio, Carly Fiorina and even Jeb Bush.
