Pakistan jails bin Laden family members
Three of the slain terrorist leader's wives and two daughters sentenced for illegally staying in the country.
Five members of Osama bin Laden’s family have been jailed in Pakistan for illegally staying in the country, according to Reuters.
The 45-day sentence, which is likely to translate to 14 days since they have been detained since March 3, will go to three of bin Laden’s widows and two of his daughters. They were also fined 10,000 rupees each, about $110. Following their sentence, they will be deported.
The terrorist leader was killed by U.S. Special Forces in a raid last May in his Pakistani compound. Last week, the New York Times revealed that while in hiding, bin Laden had four children and five homes.
