Report: Would-be bomber at heart of al-Qaida airplane plot a double-agent
Informant was working for the CIA and Saudi Arabia's intelligence agency.
The would-be bomber at the heart of the foiled al-Qaida airliner bomb plot was actually working for the CIA and Saudi Arabia's intelligence agency, the Associated Press reports. It was first reported by the Los Angeles Times, according to the AP.
The informant, who is safely out of Yemen and is being debriefed, turned the bomb over to authorities once it was given to him by al-Qaida.
