A lockdown at the White House has been called off, according to the Associated Press. At least one story from Thursday appears to have been easily resolved.
ABC News was reporting that the White House has been placed on lockdown, with reporters being told to remain in the press area.
According to Jon Karl, a White House reporter for ABC, the lockdown was caused by an "unattended package" that was found along the North Lawn fence.
Both President Obama and Vice President Biden were away from Washington for the day—Obama spoke about infrastructure in Delaware on Thursday, then traveled to New York. Biden was traveling in Detroit and speaking at the Netroots Nation conference.
