As expected, Reform Party nominee Ross Perot today was denied a spot in presidential debates planned this fall by the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates. "Participation is not extended to candidates because they might prove interesting or entertaining," said commission co-chairman Paul Kirk, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Perot spokesman Russell Verney called the decision a "travesty" and threatened to sue the commission.
