1998 Federal Holidays Set
The Office of Personnel Management has set the federal holiday schedule for 1998. Ten days are official holidays for government employees.
Because Independence Day falls on a Saturday in 1998, federal employees will have Friday, July 3 off. In 1997, President Clinton gave the federal workforce an extra holiday on Dec. 26 because Christmas fell on a Thursday. In 1998, Christmas falls on a Friday.
