Ex-FDA official favored to head agency
Jane E. Henney, who was a deputy commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration from 1992 to 1994, is President Clinton's top choice to become the new FDA commissioner. Administration officials said they hope to announce the nomination of Henney within a few weeks, after completion of background checks.
