The Republican National Committee unveiled a new TV ad campaign yesterday, where RNC Chair Jim Nicholson urges President Clinton to "put down the sunscreen" and take a moment out of his Martha's Vineyard vacation to "publicly pledge not to shut down the federal government."
Nicholson, in the ad that the RNC says is running at "near saturation levels on the Martha's Vineyard cable TV system," says, "Surely, we can work out our differences on next year's budget. But, in the meantime, we owe it to millions of children, seniors and veterans to keep their benefits going. They can't afford a vacation, Mr. President--they're counting on you."
