The 15th annual Public Service Recognition Week will take place May 6-9 this year, the Public Employees Roundtable has announced.
The Roundtable, a coalition of management and professional organizations representing federal, state and local employees and retirees, will host a celebration of public servants on the National Mall in Washington.
More than 100 government agencies will exhibit on the Mall. The Environmental Protection Agency, for example, will display its hazardous waste response equipment. Smokey the Bear will be on hand. Kids will be able to climb aboard and explore an F-16.
The theme for this year's event is "Public Employees: Working for America." Additional events will be held throughout the country.
