The General Services Administration today announced federal travel per diem rates for the year 2000.
The new rates take effect Jan. 1, 2000 for federal employees' business trips. You can check out all the new rates in GovExec.com's Travel section.
Per diem rates are increasing in 59 percent of locations, according to GSA. Rates stayed the same in 25 percent of locations and decreased in 16 percent.
Per diem rates in some of the most popular federal travel destinations will change little from 1999 rates. The lodging per diem rate for Washington, D.C. will go up $3, from $115 to $118. In Orlando, Fla., the lodging per diem rate is going up from $75 to $77.
