When Dylan Met Obama
Earlier this year, Bob Dylan agreed to appear at the White House to perform at an event celebrating the music of the civil rights movement. But, USA Today's The Oval reports, he did it in classic Dylan fashion: He blew off a rehearsal and wouldn't have his picture taken with President Obama, sailing out of the White House with nothing more than a quick handshake for the president after performing "The Times They Are A-Changin'."
The times apparently aren't changing much for Dylan, for whom such enigmatic behavior is typical. And you know who doesn't mind? The president.
"That's how you want Bob Dylan, right?," Obama told Rolling Stone. "You don't want him to be all cheesin' and grinnin' with you. You want him to be a little skeptical about the whole enterprise. So that was a real treat."
