Americans: Go Ahead, Take That Government Job
Americans may think the federal government is too big and can't manage its responsibilities, but apparently they don't think it's a bad place to work. A new Washington Post poll has found that 57 percent of respondents would recommend a government career to a friend or relative just getting out of school, while only about a third would not.
Interestingly, it seems that the younger set actually has a more positive view of federal employment. While nearly 60 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 said they would recommend government work, only 49 percent of Americans 65 and older did.
