Government's Bedbug Battlers
Working groups and summit meetings: If it seems like there's one for everything, that's because there probably is.
For example, Federal News Radio reports that yes, indeed, there is a Federal Bed Bug Workgroup, made up of representatives of five agencies: the Environmental Protection Agency, the departments of Agriculture, Defense and Health and Human Services, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The group was formed after the National Bed Bug Summit of 2009. The next summit is slated for February 2011.
Members work together on various efforts to combat the bedbug menace, such as compiling a bibliography of all federal research on the pests.
