Kucinich Throws Hat in Ring for Government Reform
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, has announced that he will challenge Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., for the ranking slot on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The Washington Post reports that in a letter to colleagues, Kucinich said the slot was important because incoming panel chair Darrell Issa, R-Calif., "has already made wild and unsubstantiated charges which threaten to turn the principal oversight committee of the House into a witch hunt."
Kucinich is currently fifth in seniority on the committee, so he faces an uphill battle against Towns, who has been chairman of the committee for the past two years.
We'll have more details on this story later.
