Obama Delays 2012 Budget Proposal
President Obama's fiscal 2012 budget will be delayed by a week, the Wall Street Journal reports. Originally slated to appear on Feb. 7, the budget now will be pushed back to sometime the following week.
The White House says the reason for the delay is the length of time it took the Senate to confirm Jacob Lew as OMB director. (Thanks, Mary Landrieu!)
The early part of next year is shaping up to be a budget mess, since the administration and newly minted GOP leaders in Congress still haven't reached final agreement on fiscal 2011 spending. The latest continuing resolution funds government through March 4.
