It's Official: GAO's New Chief Takes Over
Congratulations to Gene L. Dodaro, who was formally sworn in on Thursday as the comptroller general of the United States. Dodaro is a rarity at the top of the Government Accountability Office: He has more than 30 years experience at the agency.
Since Dodaro has been acting head of GAO since 2008, one assumes he will hit the ground running -- which is a good thing, since there's no shortage of stuff to oversee in the executive branch, and new leadership in the House eager to step up their watchdog efforts.
