Obama to Back Five-Year Spending Freeze
President Obama will call for a five-year freeze in non-security, discretionary spending during his State of the Union address tonight, the Associated Press reports. The proposal will be part of a package of proposals aimed at reducing the federal budget deficit, according to a White House official.
On MSNBC's "Morning Joe" today, presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett said more specific cuts would be included in the president's formal budget proposal next month.
