Does the real cybersecurity threat come from within?

Our latest Expert Dialogue deals with the subject of threats to information security that originate with government's own employees.

Threats to information security in the federal arena don't just come from hackers and foreign governments. Sometimes, the threat is internal: employees who leave devices where they're not supposed to or take sensitive files home -- or worse, share them with WikiLeaks.

What can federal agencies do, both technologically and from a management and policy perspective, to deal with the threat from within?

Aliya Sternstein is here to answer your questions on this topic in our latest Expert Dialogue. Sternstein is a senior correspondent at Government Executive, reporting on cybersecurity issues. She has covered government information technology for more than five years at such publications as Nextgov, National Journal's TechnologyDaily and Federal Computer Week.

You can ask her questions on this topic throughout this week. Then she'll answer selected questions, beginning March 14.
