Not Exactly Charlie Sheen, But...
The Government Accountability Office's recent report on duplicative federal programs has been garnering a good bit of attention in the media and on Capitol Hill. It's also apparently very popular with the public.
At a hearing this morning of the Senate Budget Committee's Task Force on Government Performance, GAO Comptroller General Gene Dodaro said the duplication report was downloaded 90,000 times in its first day of public availability -- three times more than any previous GAO report.
Not quite Charlie Sheen territory, but not bad for a federal document highlighting redundant programs in areas such as surface transportation and domestic food assistance.
