As expected, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., on Friday announced to members that the House will be in session the week of July 18, and not in recess as previously planned. The move comes amid anticipation that a deal could be near on a deficit-reduction and debt-ceiling plan.
Cantor also advised members that he plans to have the chamber consider a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution that week, one week earlier than originally scheduled.
