Feds Get Social
By Joe Marks
LinkedIn gained the most ground among federal social media users between 2010 and 2011, beating out Facebook, Twitter and Youtube, according to a survey released Monday.
About 70 percent of federal survey respondents are on LinkedIn now, compared with 32 percent of respondents to the same survey in 2010. That may have as much to do with impending budget cuts and job insecurity, though, as with the rising popularity of the professional social networking site.
Nextgov's Wired Workplace blogger, Brittany Ballenstedt, covered the survey by Market Connections, a research firm that focuses on the public sector, in more detail.
