Airport Security Gets Faster for Service Members
Uniformed service members will soon move through airport security more quickly.
President Obama signed The Risk-Based Security Screening for Members of the Armed Forces Act into law Tuesday, requiring the Transportation Security Administration to develop new expedited procedures for screening military passengers.
Sponsored by Rep. Chip Cravaack, R-Minn., the bill passed in the House in November with a 404-0 vote. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Tex., pushed the bill through the Senate soon after.
"This is terrific news for our troops," Cravaack said. "An expedited, risk-based TSA screening process is the least we can do for our men and women in uniform and their families who sacrifice so much."
