Know a Great Public Servant? Nominate 'Em!
Seeking honorees for this year's Service to America Medals.
Do you know someone who embodies the best of what public service is all about? Then now's the time to nominate him or her for one of the 2013 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals, sponsored by the Partnership for Public Service. Because while the nomination period has been extended, it runs out tomorrow, Jan. 11.
The medais honor outstanding federal employees based on the impact of their work on meeting the needs of the nation, on-the-job innovation and commitment to public service.
Medals are awarded in eight categories: Call to Service, Career Achievement, Citizen Services, Management Excellence, Homeland Security and Law Enforcement, National Security and International Affairs, Science and Environment, and Federal Employee of the Year. All career civilian federal employees are eligible.
The 2013 Service to America Medal finalists will be recognized in a Capitol Hill ceremony in the spring, and winners will be honored at a gala dinner in the fall.
