It's Friday. How About Some Line Dancing Feds?

At a time of low morale in the shutdown and-pay freeze-weary federal workforce, it’s a nice contrast to behold some feds giving their Friday lunch hour over to the electric slide.

Several dozen State Department employees can be seen on many Fridays line-dancing their cares away at the Columbia Plaza food courtyard, which is just around the corner from State’s C Street Northwest main building.

Led by an instructor backed by recorded soul and R&B tunes, the badge-wearing movers and shakers of all ages, genders and body types appeared on this Friday to be entranced by the joy of motion.

“It’s for State Department people or anyone who joins in,” said one participant. “It really takes it out of you.”
