Discussing the Executive Order’s Effect on Public & Private Sector Partnerships in Cybersecurity

Issued in May 2021, the Biden Administration’s Executive Order (EO) 14028 emphasized a need for improved security
within the federal government. The EO on “Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity” requires federal agencies to enhance
cybersecurity and software supply chain integrity. More specifically, this EO requires government agencies to secure cloud services, implement zero-trust architecture, and mandates deployment of multifactor authentication and encryption. The Government Business Council (GBC) partnered with HPE Aruba to better understand how this Executive Order will affect the partnership between the government and private industry.
