State unemployment agencies are under great pressure to provide prompt services to the millions of Americans who have lost their jobs as a result of the economic crisis brought on by COVID-19. The overwhelming number of claims for unemployment benefits has made it difficult for government agencies to separate legitimate claims from fraudulent ones, allowing cyber fraud scammers to take advantage of the system.
