Ready for Takeoff

en Aerospace Expeditionary Forces form the backbone of the Air Force's plan to transform itself into a lighter, more lethal, rapidly deployable force. Each AEF will include a similar package of units from across the Air Force that can be tailored to respond to a range of needs, from disaster relief to strike operations. While units in each AEF will not necessarily be collocated, a lead wing for the 10 AEFs will provide command leadership during deployments. The lead wings are as follows:
