GSA exec challenges dismissal that followed scandal
Paul Prouty appeals to MSPB, news report says.
Paul Prouty, a 41-year veteran of the General Services Administration who lost his job in June following revelations of overspending at a Las Vegas training conference, has appealed his dismissal to the Merit Systems Protection Board, according to a story from Federal News Radio.
Prouty served briefly in Washington as acting GSA chief in 2009, had until his departure been GSA’s Public Buildings Service Region 8 commissioner, based in Denver. FNR said Prouty and several other top buildings service officials who were suspended in April and fired in June.
Bill Bransford, a partner with Shaw Bransford & Roth and general counsel to the Senior Executives Association, is representing Prouty.
An MSPB administrative judge will make the first ruling on the complaint.
