Washington Agencies On Unscheduled Leave Status
Pre-Thanksgiving winter storm began to hit region on Tuesday morning.
As a pre-Thanksgiving storm bore down on the East Coast, federal agencies in the Washington area remained open, but on an unscheduled leave status.
That meant employees had the option of using unscheduled leave or telework instead of reporting to the office.
"Non-emergency employees must notify their supervisor of their intent to use unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework (if telework-ready)," the Office of Personnel Management said in an announcement of the operating status.
