The Secret Service slapped a timeout on a squirmy toddler Thursday evening after the small child caused a security scare by sliding through the White House gates.
The little squirt squeezed through a section of the gates along Pennsylvania Avenue while President Obama was preparing to announce in a televised statement that hehad authorized air strikes and humanitarian assistance in Iraq, according to a Reuters report. The breach resulted in a brief security lockdown.
The Secret Service, not known for its restraint when handling threats to the president, took this one in stride. Spokesman Edwin Donovan told reporters that agents did not subject him to the standard interrogation.
We were going to wait until he learned to talk to question him, but in lieu of that he got a timeout and was sent on way with parents."
