Washington Agencies Open With Unscheduled Leave, Telework
Forecast was for little accumulation of snow.
Federal agencies in the Washington area are open Monday, with the option for employees to take unscheduled leave or telework, the Office of Personnel Management announced.
The move came as a major snowstorm bore down on the East Coast, with very high amounts of snow expected in New York and Boston.
As for Washington, the National Weather Service "predicted no significant accumulation of snow because temperatures were expected to remain in the 30s throughout the day, with road temperatures in the 40s," OPM Director Katherine Archuleta wrote in a Facebook post. "Little accumulation was expected during the morning rush hour. However, the storm had the potential to change quickly, and OPM will watch it closely throughout the day, in consultation with NWS."
