Another Two-Hour Delay for Washington-Area Agencies
Effects of sleet and freezing rain plague region.
Federal offices in the Washington metro area will open late again Monday morning, due to the lingering effects of sleet and freezing rain.
Federal employees also have the option of taking unscheduled leave or telework, the Office of Personnel Management announced.
"Although local departments of transportation reported that most major roadways were pre-treated, there was concern that some areas could experience refreezing overnight and icy road conditions during the morning commute," OPM Director Katherine Archuleta wrote in a Facebook post. "Commuters in outlying areas or anyone experiencing localized, more severe conditions may need flexibility in making transportation decisions."
