Federal Offices in Washington to Again Open Under Three-Hour Delay Thursday
Commuters hit the road Wednesday, but many encountered delays.
Federal offices in the Washington area will again open Thursday under a three-hour delay, the Office of Personnel Management announced Wednesday evening.
The announcement means that employees can arrive up to three hours after their scheduled starting time without being charged annual leave. Employees also have the option of taking unscheduled leave or telework, if they have a telework arrangement in place.
Washington-area agencies were open on Wednesday under a three-hour delayed arrival. Commuters hit the road and train and bus travelers ventured out throughout the day, but many faced delays. Rail and bus systems operated under restricted schedules, and lanes on certain roads were covered in snow piles.
