Washington Agencies to Reopen Wednesday With Three-Hour Delay
Employees have the option of taking unscheduled leave or telework.
Federal offices in and around Washington will be open Wednesday, with a three-hour delayed arrival, the Office of Personnel Management announced Tuesday.
Federal employees also have the option of taking unscheduled leave or telework. “Non-emergency employees must notify their supervisor of their intent to use unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework (if telework-ready),” OPM has said in inclement weather guidance.
Road crews and residents of the District of Columbia and suburban Maryland and Virginia continued to dig out from last weekend’s historic storm, which dumped more than two feet of snow in some areas. Schools remain closed in many parts of the region.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority announced that trains and buses would be operating on modified schedules Wednesday due to the lingering effects of the snow.
