Trump Is Crowdsourcing How to Make His Cabinet Great
Republican nominee seeks public input on department leaders.
Government leaders have embraced crowdsourcing for an array of projects.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump wants to crowdsource the government leaders themselves.
In an email from the Republican National Committee to its listserv, the party solicited advice on who should serve in a Trump administration. The survey, RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day wrote, would provide ideas for “the team that helps Trump make America great again.”
Included in the survey are the secretaries for the departments of State, Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, Defense, Treasury, Labor, Energy, and Health and Human Services, as well as the attorney general and his chief of staff.
Trump previously released 21 names who could potentially serve as Supreme Court nominees, were he elected. Day indicated the Republican nominee could release potential agency heads as well, saying he will “develop a list of candidates to serve in his administration.”
The list did not include requests for Interior Department secretary, perhaps because Trump already has made his choice for that position: his son.
