Trump Team Resolves Paperwork Problem That Had Stalled Transition

Vice President-elect Mike Pence has signed paperwork necessary to resume planning for the transition to the Trump administration, the Office of Management and Budget confirmed Wednesday. 

The transition had been frozen until Pence, selected to replace New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as transition chairman, completed a memorandum of understanding meant to safeguard against disclosure of sensitive information during collaboration between officials from incoming presidential transition teams and outgoing administrations.

The White House received the paperwork Tuesday night, according to a statement. The next step will be for the Trump team to name the officials who will be working with the Obama administration. 

"Once we have received those names and related materials, those individuals will be able to receive the briefing materials we have prepared and begin to communicate with their Obama administration agency counterparts as we continue our work to facilitate the transition to the next administration," White House spokeswoman Brandine Hoffine said in the statement.
