Play of the Day: Joe Biden Doesn't Want to Pass the Torch
The Democrats debated on Thursday and the former vice president was the centerpiece of the discussion.
The Democrats held two debates this week in Miami and supporters of former Vice President Joe Biden gave away ice cream near the venue on Wednesday, calling the ice cream cones "Joe Cones." Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked about the news, saying that a "Joe Cone" is something "Biden wears to make sure he respects personal space."
Biden, the frontrunner, was the subject of attacks from many of his fellow debaters and Rep. Eric Swallwell recalled seeing Biden over 30 years ago saying the Democrats need to "pass the torch." Biden replied that he is "still holding onto that torch" prompting The Daily Show's Trevor Noah to joke that "the torch is really uncomfortable and told Biden that it really does not like the way he's holding onto it." Colbert joked that Biden's torch comments could factor into his new slogan: "Biden 2020: Give me this nomination or I will burn this place to the ground."
