Play of the Day: The President, a Phone Call and a Blown Whistle
An intelligence community whistleblower filed a complaint alleging that Donald Trump offered a "promise" to a foreign leader.
President Donald Trump visited a section of the border wall under construction in California this week and touted the wall's ability to retain heat by saying it's so hot "you won't be able to touch it. You could fry an egg on that wall." Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about the news, saying "I know there are a lot of things he doesn't understand, but I didn't think gravity was on that list."
According to reports, an intelligence community whistleblower filed a complaint to the IG alleging that Donald Trump offered a promise to a foreign leader. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying the complaint has come out during a rough week for the president because he also wasn't chosen to be the next Bachelor, while Meyers joked that Trump's behavior merits literal whistles being blown whenever he's in public. In response to the news, Trump tweeted "is anybody dumb enough to believe that I would say something inappropriate with a foreign leader while on such a potentially “heavily populated” call," prompting Jimmy Kimmel to raise his hand.
