Black people have been mistreated by the United States government since the establishment of the country and U.S. history is littered with elected officials who upheld these policies. With demonstrators protesting for more racial justice in the United States, activists have also called for a more thorough examination of statutes and buildings named after men with a racist past.
Eric Katz found a dozen the civilian federal buildings named after segregationist members of Congress and other public officials with racist history. He joined the show to discuss the buildings and the potential for renaming.
