The General Services Administration has named Mindy Connolly, a procurement policy analyst at the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, as its new chief acquisition officer, Government Executive has learned. GSA Administrator Martha Johnson made the policy announcement in a staffwide memo on Thursday.
In her CAO role, Connolly will serve as GSA's lead official in acquisition management and policy decisions. The CAO also helps develop Federal Acquisition Regulations, manages GSA-specific and governmentwide acquisition systems and reviews companies for potential suspension and debarment.
In her role at OFPP, Connolly led the office's natural resources' contracting policy matters, including implementing White House requirements for sustainable procurements and green building design.
