Obama: 'shocked and saddened' by theater killings

President Obama said in a statement Friday that he and his wife, Michelle were "shocked and saddened" by what he called "the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado."
A gunman opened fire Friday morning on a crowded Colorado movie theater, killing 12 and wounding at least 50, the Associated Press reported.
In the statement, Obama added: "As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family."
The shooting took place in Aurora, a suburb of Denver, during a showing of the Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises,” according to the AP.
Police took a suspect into custody.
Mitt Romney also released a statement Friday saying he and his wife, Ann, were "saddened" by the "senseless violence."
