Play of the Day: The Behemoth Immigration Bill
With legislation coming from the Senate, The Daily Show explains its path.
The National Security Agency’s surveillance program continues to be a topic on late-night television, with Ralph Nader’s recent criticism of Barack Obama over the program making The Tonight Show monologue. Late Night ’s Jimmy Fallon noted Obama’s comments about his relationship to the previous administration and Late Show ’s David Letterman wondered what technology would the government surveil next. Letterman also hit the president on his trip to Ireland for the G8 conference and lack of progress coming from the conference.
On Comedy Central, The Daily Show spent two segments on the Senate’s immigration bill , leading with a joke about the do-nothing Congress. Fallon noted the size of the bill and the lack of public understanding of the the bill.
