NASA’s program to crowdsource solutions to find dangerous asteroids was released this week and Jimmy Fallon took note. The Late Night host noted that the prize would be human survival on Earth and also compared the previous plan to an arcade game.
President Barack Obama’s falling approval rating was a topic Wednesday night for late-night hosts. Jay Leno said that Obama will personally go through any metadata he can find and win over those who disapprove of him. Fallon made a similar joke, tying the NSA scandal back to the president.
The German leg of Obama’s European trip provided fodder for David Letterman. The Late Show host referenced John F. Kennedy’s famed 1963 malapropism and questioned if the Germans have a right to be upset about the NSA program. The Daily Show ’s John Oliver pointed out the connection between foreigners not enjoying the NSA surveillance program and who the program targets.
