Play of the Day: Obama is Just As Confused as We Are
According to Conan O’Brien, the president needs to work on his decisiveness on the Syrian conflict.
President Barack Obama spoke to the nation on Syria Tuesday night and, because of the timing of tapings, late-night show hosts got to discuss it Wednesday evening. The Tonight Show ’s Jay Leno thought Obama looked confused, while Conan O’Brien’s producers put together a video of Obama indecisively exiting and entering every room in the White House after the speech. O’Brien also referenced Internet search results that showed pop star Miley Cyrus was a far more popular topic with users than Syria. In recapping the speech for those who didn’t watch, The Late Show ’s David Letterman showed a cut up video of Obama calling Assad an expletive.
The possible deal with the Russians was also part of the late-night chatter . In noting the Syrian leader’s birthday Letterman said Bashar al-Assad received a gift of “saving his ass” from Russian leader Vladimir Putin, while Stephen Colbert used the opportunity to show the famed shirtless photo of Putin riding a horse.
