Play of the Day: Kanye West for President
If Trump can lead in the polls in 2015, why can't an outspoken musician in 2020?
MTV's Video Music Awards were held Sunday evening and the big news out of the show was Kanye West's long monologue after winning the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. In an 11-minute speech, West decried consumer culture, talked up his own status and announced he is running for president in 2020. A long, rambling monologue without prepared remarks made by an inexperienced potential candidate with a huge ego… Sound familiar?
The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about West's comments about marijuana usage and compared it to Obama and also joked about West's wife Kim Kardashian. Jimmy Kimmel's staff put together a supercut of similar things said by Donald Trump. Turns out, Trump and West are pretty similar in the way they talk.
