Play of the Day: Gender in the Democratic Primary
Is there really a "special place in hell" for young women who support Bernie Sanders?
In an odd occurrence during yesterday's primary, a 600-pound pig got loose from a New Hampshire farm and ended up at a polling place in Pelham. This gave opportunity to Jimmy Kimmel to show some silly video of the pig and joke about sixth-place finisher Chris Christie's weight.
Bernie Sanders won New Hampshire's Democratic presidential primary over Hillary Clinton Tuesday, but the main story remains Sanders' surge in support from young women. The Daily Show's Trevor Noah noted Sanders' popularity, saying he's the new George Clooney and that he could join One Direction.
Recently, Clinton surrogates such as her husband, feminist icon Gloria Steinem and former State Department chief Madeline Albright have all made (sometimes awkward) public statements decrying women who don't support Clinton. The Nightly Show's Larry Wilmore joked about some of Bill Clinton's recent statements, while noting what almost derailed his presidency in 1998.
