Play of the Day: 'Please Clap' for Jeb Bush
The Floridian is having trouble exciting his supporters.
Marco Rubio's campaign is trying a new method to connect with young voters: Millennial slang on campaign merchandise. His new offering is a blue shirt adorned with a photo of the candidate and "Ru(bae)o" printed beneath. Conan O'Brien joked about the shirt Thursday, saying it's such a desperate attempt to appeal to young people, it's a surprise Hillary Clinton didn't think of it.
Despite a sixth-place finish in Iowa and current polling in the high single digits in New Hampshire, Jeb Bush is continuing his lackluster campaign for the White House. At an event in New Hampshire this week, one of his applause lines fell so flat that he had to request the audience to clap. Late Night's Seth Meyers joked about Bush, saying the incident indicates "it's over, pal" because Americans will clap for things like a waiter dropping a plate, the end of a movie, a plane successfully landing, etc. Meyers also noted that there's only one way to get people to clap for Bush: If he exits the race.
