Play of the Day: Late Night Tries to Process the Orlando Massacre
After the massacre, comedians bring some small bit of levity.
After the weekend shooting in Orlando left 50 dead, late-night comedians spend much of Monday night without jokes. Samantha Bee led off her show asking if she could just scream, while Late Night's Seth Meyers used his monologue segment to go through the facts of the shooting (including making jokes about white people, guns and Donald Trump). Bee also joked about the shooter's bad selfies, Florida's gun laws and the state's mental health care.
The Nightly Show's Larry Wilmore reserved part of his piece on Orlando to note the comments of GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump. Wilmore noted that Trump's ban on immigrants would have affected his love life and noted Trump's congratulations to himself over thinking terrorism is bad."
