Play of the Day: Diagramming Trump's Friday Statement
Samantha Bee examines the 38 seconds Trump gave to admitting Obama was born in the U.S.
Republican VP pick Mike Pence said recently that the vice president he would most like to emulate is Dick Cheney. Late Night's Seth Meyers and Conan O'Brien joked about Cheney, referencing the infamous time he shot his friend in the face during a hunting trip.
Donald Trump's Friday press conference was the main topic of angry humor Monday for late-night hosts. Late Show's Stephen Colbert said Trump admitting Barack Obama was born in the U.S. is "a firm grasp of the obvious," like knowing that Trump isn't qualified to be president. Both Meyers and Colbert went over Trump's history of fomenting the birther rumor, including Meyers keying in on Trump calling Obama's documents "fake," considering Trump's got a fake university, fake foundation and fake hair. Full Frontal's Samantha Bee diagrammed Trump's Friday statement, even noting that Trump saying "you know what I mean" is less than truthful.
